sibling pics...

It's funny how everyone's brains are geared differently...when travis sees a bunch of trees, water, sunshine, etc..he thinks of what a perfect hunting and fishing spot, etc...when it's a gorgeous day, ty and hanna see bike rides, duck calls, fishing, Claire just wants to be outside...and i see pretty photo ops...haha! When your kids have had a camera in their face, constantly, since birth...they think it's perfectly normal to be in the middle of a bike ride...and decide to go home, change clothes, grab the camera and head back for picture taking..haha! always with a candy treat afterwards.haha!

I feel with our life's crazy schedule..i haven't been able to capture their pretty faces lately...so, yesterday was the day! It was absolutely gorgeous, we had been at the ponds and nothing makes me more happy than taking pictures...and my kids are always my lucky subjects.hehe!

Thanks to photoshop..i was able to clean off Claire's dirty face from the whole cantaloupe she devoured...and I really wish Hanna didn't have on the pink necklace from the $1 bin at target we got that morning..but, hey...beggars can't be choosers! ha!

I love my babies very much...but, maybe a little more when they are willing to let me take their pictures..even if candy is the culprit! :) ha!

I had just cleared off all my camera devices (or so I thought) since we are leaving for DW soon..
so, in the middle of taking pics...i saw, "card full." I mean, I know I take hundreds of pics in one session...but, i mean, not 800 worth...soo..after investigating, I realized I had a ton protected, and therefore not erased....so, after driving home, getting the kids a piece of candy, I cleared my card..and it was time for individual pics...but, ty was toooooo fast in changing his clothes, he missed out..but, no doubt, he'll have his turn soon..hehe!

Outdoorsman...

Saturday morning, Travis woke up to Ty saying, "Hey daddy, wake up, it's morning time..want to go throw some top waters?" lol...Travis has never been more excited to be woken up! so, of course, he sprung out of bed and he and Ty were out the door by 7...me and the girls stayed behind on that one..ha!
Fishing is something I grew up doing and although I am not a fisherman by any means, my dad did instill some fishing knowledge..so, it's fun to see ty get excited and hanna as well. claire just loves to throw rocks...but whatever keeps her happy!
Travis also LOVES to fish..he'd catch or kill just about anything...so, having his kids enjoy his loves, is also very exciting for him..and fun for me to watch! some dads watch sports, travis watching hunting and fishing..with ty, hanna and claire, right there with him! (and me too, although..hgtv and food network would be my first choice..hehe).

If we aren't home..this is where you can find us...at the pond..

sometimes I have to work on Travis' sharing of the fishing poles....lol! one day i'll learn to bring one for all my kids..hehe!

saturday night, my mom so graciously had our kids come over to swim and kept them overnight...while travis and I could get a date night in...and we had so much fun!
We are both indecisive people when it comes to restaurants...so, while we pondered...we enjoyed drinks in our fancy crystal glasses and our gormet appetizer..it was just perfect.
finally we decided on cancun grill, a favorite, but sometimes overlooked restaurant..and it was delicious. after that..we were just excited to go home and go to bed..like most parents are excited for when away from kids...sleep! haha!
so after polishing off some cookies we hit the hay!
but, I failed in the packing category for my kids...so, i had to bring claire diapers (the one time my mom doesn't have diapers at her house.haha)..at 9:00 and then the next morning for church...we had to bring ty different pants and claire some shoes...haha! good thing we are in the same town! ha!
but, it was a wonderful evening!

later on sunday, I got my hair did by my stylist..

while I finally gave in and allowed ty to watch, "the Sandlot." ha! Travis, not ty, had been wanting to watch it for a long while now, but i just wasn't sure...so, while I was at a baby shower, and trav took the kids to a baseball/sandlot themed bday party..it sealed the deal...ha!

Two peas in a pod!

Claire got upgraded to a "big kid" swing...big day for her..

since hanna doesn't nap..if she sits still during the 4:00 hour..this is what sometimes happens..

and tonight she dosed off at the dinner table...so, sometimes no naps are a good thing...but usually it's not! haha.

Tuesday, we got to watch our two college alma matters play against each other in baseball..since that doesn't happen to often..and has never happened in midland where we can watch...we decked out in PURPLE!!!! hehe! I honestly, didn't care what they wore...claire clearly didn't have a choice..and I think Hanna just liked the purple over black..ha!..but she did cheer loudly for the wildcats, right above their dugout..where our seats where! haha!
we had such a fun, family outing..probably one of our firsts in a long while...the kids made it longer than we expected but we still left before the game was over. Sadly, ACU lost!

sporting ACU gear..but guns up for Tech!

when they all started to get pretty restless we walked around before heading home..it was such a beautiful night!

the weather has been awesome here lately..so we have been outside as much as we can...and it's been great! love spring time!

Family weekend...

This past weekend was the first weekend we were all home as a family...and it was so very nice! I feel we were very productive..which makes it even better. ha! It was beautiful weather..and even got some great, much needed rain! Success all around!

Friday morning we had a fun park date..lots of friends, old and new there! it was a busy place! but, fun for all...

Friday afternoon we went and got mulch and flowers....which lead to ice cream!

Clearly, it was windy..haha!

Friday night, since we were working in the front yard...it lead to our kids eating at the neighbors, which lead to an impromptu slumber party for Ty...and we had our neighbor spend the night! The boys were super excited...in fact, so excited..they had a hard time sleeping! Ty finally crashed about 10:30 and his friend, not until 11:15ish! so..they next day...I MADE TY take a nap...which he did! :) ha!  but, they had so much fun and i guess marks the beginning of more to come.

Saturday morning, we finished some yard work and that afternoon Hanna went with me to a baby shower..and of course, had to wear her "party dress."

after the shower, we took my mom pizza and cake to celebrate her bday.

and, I don't think I have ever seen Claire so excited when we said, "cake"....boy was she happy and excited..and clearly enjoyed it! haha.

Sunday after church and claire's nap...we enjoyed the beautiful weather at my parents pool...
finally, claire got to partake instead of just watching...she loved it.

3 little fishes.

We didn't stay too long b/c we saw the storms rolling in and decided to head home....so later that night we got to watch and hear the pouring rain..perfect ending to the day!

where there is dirt..this one will play in it! but, it keeps her occupied!

Claire was jumping in like a pro...over and over again....and on the way home (about 4) she feel asleep..and slept for almost 2 hours...I thought she was going to sleep through the night..but woke up..ate a little and went back to bed a little later! that wore her out!

Speaking of Claire, she is such a trooper in always waiting around while watching her older sibs do fun activities...she is their biggest fan!

but, saturday, I took a much needed break from yard work...and instead of putting her in bed for a nap..I just held her...I don't get to do that often..and I enjoyed every second! just looking at her!

Monday after swim lessons..instead of doing typical errands...we just came home and I did countless loads of laundry..and even put them away! haha! that's the hardest part! ha.

Hanna stamped her face (and legs) but said, "I just want to look like those cheerleaders."
and later I found her shirt like this....EEEEK! b/c "that's what those cheerleaders do." This whole cheerleading thing is getting out of control. Hanna is super observant..and although she isn't in class with the girls dressed like that..she sees them in the building..and I've often wondered why elementary aged girls are wearing cropped tops and mini shorts...and now that my 3 year old is making her clothes look like "cheerleader outfits" I am not sure I'm ok with that message! I'm ok with her age doing cheerleading...but the uniforms and dances need to be age appropriate...anyways, off my soap box!

Monday night, we typically have tball games...so, I was preparing dinner early..since we eat early those nights...and while I was doing that...claire was super fussy, so I was holding her..and then she proceeded to throw up. I had been giving her breathing treatments all day (since the storm weather wreaked havoc on her) so, she clearly didn't feel well..but that caught me off guard. But, I was in the middle of making dinner...so, I just continued...and when I was at a stopping point...went to change my shirt and swifter the floor..all the while holding claire...who, come to find out, was asleep. So, after dinner was all prepared..we went and sat on the couch and ty came and sat next to me and we watched a show. Hanna had gone to my room..and once I realized it was all quite..I had Ty, "sneak" into my bedroom and see if hanna was asleep...(it was after 3 by now) and sure enough..hanna was sacked out!

so, ty took a picture of her! lol!

tball got cancelled last night b/c of weather...although we were sad..it was nice to have a little normalcy in the house with dinner and bedtime.

can't wait until thursday, so we can cheer on this cute little tball player!

Easter...

This year Easter was fun b/c all kids were old enough to hunt eggs and were very excited about it...and boy did they have their share of egg hunts. First it was a bday party, then their schools hunt...Ty was geared up for it...Hanna not so much (for whatever reason) and Claire was the only one in her class that day..so she had it all to herself! (each class had their individual hunt). then the reunion egg hunt, the meme's egg hunt! i actually think they were hunted out...

Ty Had a blast at the schools..

Look who we spied peeking through her window...

claire's solo hunt..haha..

Hanna came out crying once she saw me...and had absolutely zero interest in the hunt. Since Ty and Claire had just been diagnosed with Strep I was hoping it wasn't b/c she felt bad..but her teachers said she acted fine all day...so, I have no idea. So, she stayed on my hip the whole time! HA! and would not go near the easter bunny!

Friday afternoon, we picked up mom-mom (grandpa had left the day before) and we headed to Dallas...but stopped in Abilene to pick up brady and sophi since daniel was sick and he and casey couldn't go...
they watched movies, we jammed out..stopped in weatherford to eat supper...it was a fun ride...
and that night got to the hotel.
Next morning after breakfast we went another hour east to the annual Family Easter Reunion! It was an absolute gorgeous day...in fact, that morning when we left it was like 40-50 something degrees...so putting the sunscreen on, that I had purchased for the sole reason of the trip, did not even cross my mind...but, boy did we get red...and the kids. I felt terrible. but, didn't seem to bother anyone! we stayed as long as we could, fishing, running around, enjoying the outdoors and family...but, since we still had another egg hunt to do at the hotel...plus the swimming pool was on the kids minds...we left late that afternoon.

In ready position to start the egg hunt...

Ty was all.about.the.hunt...this year...he took off and I could barely find him to take pics..he gathered 40 eggs. :)

Claire was all about it too..she had a great time..

while claire sat and played with her eggs...I had the easter bunny, nonchalantly, sneak up behind her and added the other 2....easter bunny pic success! haha.

counting eggs and money!

sophi was in contention to win most money...

sweet cousins...

brady wanted his picture taken...such a model..haha.

claire's position...she hung in there pretty good. She took a morning nap about 8:30 that morning so she lasted a little longer than normal..but about 2ish..i finally just put her in the car and drove down the street and she was out...and continued to stay out for about 2 hours..haha! sleepy girl.

travis had just as fun of a time fishing as the boys did...where there is water..he will fish.

brady was the fisherman of the day and caught 8 fish! he was super excited..and asked to send a video message to his mommy and daddy..b/c "they would be so proud"! sooo sweet!

even hanna got in on the action.

after meme's egg hunt, we had a pizza and swim party! Probably the highlight of the kids trip..haha.

Hanna, told me( and everyone) that she was going to take a picture with the easter bunny...and she did! haha.

Sophi has never been a fan of the bunny...and this year was no different...when she saw him, she bolted off in tears...but, she rallied and stayed as far away as possible..but still managed to get a pic!

When I went to put the poles in my dad's truck..I came around the house to find the girls giving a dance and singing performance...haha! they had about 10 peoples attention..all eyes on them...it was pretty funny...and sooooo typical of sophi!

meme and all her great-grandkids!

the last night the boys wanted to sleep in the same room...so, since trav wanted a bedtime snack..the boys got one too..haha.  Travis is such a great dad and uncle!

sunday before we left..the mom-mom and grandpa easter bunny came!

and back on the road we went...we stopped in eastland at the mcdonald's...b/c honestly, they have the best bathrooms...and we got all the kids a happy meal...the next best thing to them on the trip..haha!
we dropped B&S off...and we continued on our way home!
such a fun time!
and the kids came home to find the easter bunny had come...it's so funny to hear how they think he got in while we were gone...Sneaky, sneaky!
Happy Easter!
now what to do with all the candy??????? ha!
