Thanksgiving 2014...

This year for Thanksgiving we stayed in Midland with the Lankford side...We ate incredibly way to much (or at least I did)...had lots of family time...watched football..ate..talked..ate...and just enjoyed family time with my parents, sister and fam, Betty Fay, meme and her friend, Leon.
It was a wonderful time with excellent cooking by my mom... if you left with an empty stomach it was definitely your own fault! :)
Ty wanted to spend the night with brady wed night...so of course, Hanna did as well. It was already a full house there..but they stayed..and although Travis and I slept great at our house..hehe.. (no kids crawling in bed with us)..apparently, it was not the same situation at my parents...and the kids stayed up way too late..cue, the grumpy kids the next day!
Hanna took an extremely early nap about 9:30 on thursday...which made a big difference for her!
We eat our "thanksgiving feast" as the kids call it at lunch....rest and then gear up for the Cowboy game! It was a beautiful weekend, so a lot of outdoor play and TV porch watching happened.
My favorite holiday and another year that I am reminded of that!
We are truly blessed...and have a lot to be thankful for...

Mom-Mom and Grandpa with the grandkids...

Our Clan...

my sister and fam..

This is Claire's favorite spot...she may or may not have broken one..sorry about that mom.

this is why nobody slept wednesday night..nice try..but, they were all separated...

and why this one took an early nap the following day...

they all played so hard for 3 days!

Claire absolutely loves her Aunt Casey...

this one was constantly finding her way to the kitchen...

our wonderful chef..

claire really enjoyed uncle Daniel's favorite dessert..chocolate layer delight.

Brady is going to ask for his front tooth for christmas...since he has lost another tooth.

miss priss wanted to eat her "bazzert" at the adult table.

Friday after we helped mom get her christmas decor out...it was "grandpa's bday party." we had chocolate, PB, graham cracker balls...and the kids made him beautiful cards....it was a great "surprise party."

and she's back to her spot..

Ty and Brady made their christmas list..

Claire cheering on the cowboys...

while the woman wrestled the dishes, and kids....the men got a nice nap in..lol.

after a little snooze..the girls fished with Grandpa..

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving parties...

I felt like we were just having their Halloween parties..and now all the moms are back for the thanksgiving  feast.
This year the kids school did their "Thanksgiving feast" a little different since the church's big fellowship room is under construction! So..instead of having a big lunch feast they did individual class "feasts" where moms were in charge of providing, "turkey roll-ups, fruit, cookies and drinks." but, let me tell you..having a turkey roll up for a "party" wasn't the favorite of every little kiddo..haha! Ty's class, however,  had a thanksgiving meal for lunch instead of the hot lunch pizza that everyone else got! I know, it makes no sense...everyone should have had their "feast" for lunch..but, that's what they decided..so that's what we did.! So, for Ty's class we just did cookie, fruit and drinks!

Like always, once Hanna sees me she clings to me and doesn't eat a bite of her party food...so we always just take her plate with us to crash Ty's party! She was still being a stinker in his class and not wanting to take a picture...but, Ty did! :) (love my little boy).

They got their bellies full and then we went and grabbed Claire...

I tried to get their picture together..but this is the best I got! Ha

Ty's Thanksgiving crafts...

and hanna's. Hanna apparently had one more..but since we left early we missed it!

No thanksgiving craft for claire!

We are all partied out....and ready for a relaxing week off of everything....no life group, gymnastics/dance, e-teen, school...etc! we are just going to be home and relax...(and break my cardinal rule of no christmas until after thanksgiving...every rule is made to be broken, right?)

Saturday, while daddy played dodgeball with his E-teen kids...me and the kids braved the mall to buy for our angel family! Since they did so well, we all enjoyed a delicious lunch..at where else...chick fil a..I mean, is there really anywhere else in my kids minds??

later that afternoon in between the rain (yes, it rained..and it was wonderful)...ty and hanna helped daddy get our christmas lights out...all before the Tech game! :)

Ty is all about decorating the tree...so, he's in charge of the "kid tree" that consist of all their craft ornaments they've racked up over the years! ...this is definitely the cutest tree in the house!  but, still in progress..

how else do you watch the tech game???

now my sweet little boy is starting off our thanksgiving break with the stomach bug!!!UGH!~ he gets it all the stinkin time and I hate it for him. But, the good thing, the older he gets, he knows when it's coming...so that is very helpful! but, still never good!

Happy Thanksgiving!

What goes in..must come out..

When Hanna was 10 months old she had tubes put in b/c of too many ear infections. A couple days after tubes were in she got another double ear infection..but 2 years later, she hasn't had a single one! (woohoo). I always have dr's look in her ears to see if they have fallen out..and they never had...but, we learned this summer, after she was complaining of her ear hurting after swimming a lot at gamy and granddaddy's, that one had fallen out (yay)...and I think she had swimmers ear b/c of it! So, we got an ear drop antibiotic. Later we had another check up at her ENT to see if the other had fallen out..and it of course, hadn't. So, he wanted to do surgery then..right in the thick of summer. No big deal except you can't get your ears wet for 6 weeks..umm...that would've been absolute torture to Hanna..who loves to swim. So, I postponed it..until august...and then again until sept...(hoping it would fall out...and waiting until swim season was officially over)...so..at her 3 year checkup it was still in place..so we went ahead with the surgery. After the pre-op at the ENT he said it was still perfectly in place and the one that had fallen out was stuck on her eardrum...so...we got them taken out!

We were at the hospital at 6...and waited an hour and a half until we went back to holding room...that Dr. goes by age..so since she was older she was near the back of the line. She did great in the room waiting..caught her self dosing off..and then would immediately wake up and move around..haha...she then got real restless so we looked out the window at the beautiful scenery of the hospital roof..haha...and then went into the hall where she saw other kids being wheeled off..finally it was our turn...I rode on the stretcher with her and when it was time to take her back...like i told the nurse, "it's not going to be pretty." We tried to prep her and tell her what was going to happen..mainly, that mommy and daddy couldn't go..but would be right here when she got back..it didn't really work. She was in all tears being carried back. No matter how many times you have done it or know they will be ok..it's still never easy leaving your kids like that...especially to strangers! The nurse said, " we are going to blow up balloons." Which actually Hanna  loves to do..but not that day!
A whole 5 minutes later she was done...and Dr Patel came out to tell us how surgery went. He said that one tube was being covered by tissue...so, no wonder after 2 years it never came out...so, I am so glad we went ahead with it! Oddly, only one parent is allowed in post-op...so, since I went last time..Travis got to this time...although i was ready to bust through those doors to see her.
a few short minutes later, they were wheeling she and trav out the doors and I was able to see my baby girl. I was telling her what a great job she did and how brave she was...and she said, "I just cry a little..I didn't want to go blow up balloons." lol!
The good (yet bad) thing about a 5 min surgery...is the scant amount of anesthesia they give them..it wears off immediately! haha!
We had to wait 30 min afterwards until we could go home...and then we were out the door...and hanna could not wait to see her "brudder and claire."
but, first a stop at the donut shop...for our brave little girl...and her family! hehe!

Just waiting...

daddy, may or may not have dozed off in this bed while we waited..haha.

After surgery..being her silly self.

and she's out! she walked down the hall and waved to all the nurses like she owned the place..haha!

We are thankful for a great, successful surgery..and I hope we never have to see the ENT or hospital again...(minus our follow-up appt).

On another note...Travis took Ty and Hanna all by himself to the Tech game...they had a blast and stayed the whole time! Travis is a great dad and I know they had a wonderful time together..while me and Claire stayed home (who is officially walking)

This was  Hanna's "cheerleader" pose but, in the grass couldn't keep her balance...so thankful for fences..haha!

They made it...and no doubt cheered their little hearts out..

Our little Pumpkin, Claire...

We also celebrated Claire's 1st birthday Saturday....that evening, the family came over for dinner, cake and presents!
We had a fun time celebrating our baby girl...she played for a little while, got hungry at 4:00...so, she ate, we opened her presents and then had cake...and then she was done for the night! haha! After we finished singing she may or may not have touched the flame in her candle..but either she felt the flame or was incredibly scared by the whole families reaction to her hand getting near the flame..and tears started. After she calmed down I tried to interest her in cake...but she was over it! So, down she went for the night at about 5:30! she was one sleepy girl.
But, we still had fun seeing her smiling face, laughter and fun reactions...she is one lucky little girl to have her family come celebrate her!

the annual, sign the 1st bday frame...:) What one kid has..the others have to as well..haha.

instead of having cake or cupcakes, (since it was our 2nd party of the day) I just made PB, graham cracker balls...made to look like little pumpkins...

and the kids could pick a pumpkin from "Claire's pumpkin patch" to decorate...and as party favors! :)

Had carmel apples and toppings as an appetizer..clearly, I wasn't fast enough to take pics..it was demolished. Definitely a hit for the kids.

and she begins to get tired...

her yearly pic banner...

It was a beautiful night so the kids played, played, played outside! they all have such a great time together.

my kids have the best aunts...

she was so tired..she kept leaning her head back on travis..so sweet.

she was so excited to open her gifts...

loved this face of hers...

sweet cousin brady was telling her how to play with the toy from him...haha.

cake time..but, she didn't get any! haha.
