New School...

This morning was Meet the Teacher at the kids new school and will start next tuesday...bright and early at our mornings are about to change...haha.
When you mention the word, "School" to either kid they get very excited. In fact, this morning I didn't even have to tell Ty to get ready (since he insists on dressing himself..without help)..he told me, "mommy, we are going to my new school today....I'm going to go get dressed." Go for it, Ty! He was also up at the crack of dawn this morning at 5 ready to rock and, he must have been anxious and ready.
So, he sure enough went and got his clothes and socks and shoes on all by himself and was ready to 7:30! lol.

Hanna, still prefers to be naked and dressing her is a lot more challenging...but, she finally chose an outfit and let me (with a straight jacket attached..only kidding) put it on her.

I could not drive there fast enough as Ty was super excited. We got there and he could not wait to see who his new teachers were...but first everyone meet in the chapel for a brief welcoming followed by an introduction of each teacher (not sure any parent got anything out of that considering all kids were 4 and under..haha)..but, the whole time Ty kept asking which ones were his teachers..and with everything else going on (aka Hanna)...I wasn't even able to catch which ones were his...haha..oops! but, after that we headed to their classrooms...

Hanna's room was first and she was a little shy at first but warmed up nicely. Plus, she found the box of dolls and wanted to take all of them home.
Her teachers were great and we are excited about them...and the kids we meet (all boys) seemed very nice as well. I was most excited about the fact that all in her class have the same birthday months..or close to it. With Hanna being a late Oct. Baby she will always be the oldest...which is nice in school age but with MDO and church she always ends up being the oldest by 1 year...So, it was nice seeing them all in the same couple of months (oct, nov and a few dec).
Plus, I heard they are great with potty training as I wonder how she will do with so many distractions...but, great to hear they take them frequently..

So, we left her class and headed down the hall to Ty's.

Ty already knows 2 kids in his class so that is wonderful...and there was pretty much all boys and 1 the time we were, he was excited about that...and the tools they were playing with..haha. Of course, nobody wanted to leave.
His teachers were also great and we are excited about them. They seem very nurturing and we again, are excited.

When we leave we have to bypass the awesome play area thats inside..which I was told is a challenge getting the kids to leave..and I witnessed that neither my kids nor others wanted to leave.  but, after 3 attempts we finally made it out. haha..
So, we are all very excited for next tuesday as the kids start their new school and a new school year! yay!

On another note.. I am officially a mom of multiple kids...I 'd say a carpool mom, but those days are hard to do now (with the carseat laws)..ha!
but, we traded in my tahoe that I have had for 6 years now and got a mom-mobile..Expedition EL.
so, we are officially a Ford driving travis has an F-150.
It's going to take some time getting use to driving a Ford...after driving a chevy and growing up in a chevy family (but, my parents have also converted to Ford's..haha). So, we have more room for all our family now! :) as ty pointed out to me this morning.."when we have claire there will be 5." :)

We are breaking in the new vehicle as we have a roadtrip coming up...:)
Hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend!

Brownie Recipe....

I love chocolate...pretty much anything with chocolate in it...I will eat. Still not sure how I was convinced not to have a chocolate-with chocolate icing wedding cake...but, i was.
My favorite chocolate dessert happens to be a warm, yummy, big brownie with ice cream on top..yum yum. Therefore, I am a brownie snob..and once you've eaten a good , delicious homemade brownie recipe it's hard to eat others...but, trust me, I do a very good job at fact, if you just want to pick some brownie's up from a store...Sam's pillsbury brownies are pretty darn good.

Anyways, a few months back when travis' cousin and family were visiting she shared a brownie recipe. And with my love for chocolate, brownies and baking I quickly put the recipe to the test...and it held up  its end of the bargain...they were delicious and super easy. I can not tell you how many times I have made them since...I'm embarrassed to say almost weekly...they sure don't last long in the pan..hence why I never have a picture. :) I typically always make my brownies from scratch (mainly bc I always have the ingredients on hand)...and have tried numerous recipes.. and this one, honestly, has been a front runner for my favorite...and also b/c it's so stinkin easy! :)

so, I thought with a holiday coming  up if you need a delicious and quick is one to try...and you can even layer in big Symphony bars in the middle of your batter (batter, bars, batter) and make a toffee type brownie...yummmmmyyyy! scrumptious.
Another pro is it's a one bowl you aren't having to wash several dishes! yay! even better, right? haha.

Thanks JDS for the recipe...we absolutely love it!

Here's the recipe...

I cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 tsp vanilla
4 eggs, beaten
1 cup pecans
1 1/3 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 unsweetened cocoa
8 oz chocolate chips

*In microwave safe bowl stir sugar, salt and cocoa together, add chocolate chips and butter and microwave 1-1/2 minutes. Stir until melted. Add vanilla, eggs and flour. Stir well and add pecans.
Bake 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes!

*When I make these I alter the directions just a tad by just melting my butter and chocolate chips together first and then adding the sugar, salt and cocoa...and they always turn out great.

Hope you make these...they are delicious!

Another yummy dessert..that we make frequently..even travis can handle this one by himself..and does often... is a recipe my meme gave me years ago...another great quick, easy and delicious go-to dessert..

In fact, it's so yummy i have seen it around the pinterest world...haha.

Chocolate Chip Cake

1 box yellow cake mix
3/4 cup veg oil
4 eggs
1 small package chocolate instant pudding
6 oz chocolate chips (but i usually add more..hehe)
8 oz sour cream
1/2 cup sugar

Mix all your ingredients in sprayed bundt pan.
Bake at 350 for 45min-1 hour ...* i usually bake mine for 40 min.
sprinkle powdered sugar on top....and ta da!

There  ya go...2 super easy but delicious desserts..that never fail.
Hope I made you hungry..haha!

Weekend Roadtrip...

This weekend we went to Dallas...but not until travis got out of his company golf tournament where he got second by a score card playoff...oh well...better luck next time, babe!
We stopped on the way and actually ate "inside" ty's favorite. We wanted to eat somewhere different that Midland does not have, but we settled for Chili's. haha. It actually took a whole lot longer than anticipated but we weren't in a big hurry. Both kids colored a pepper to help raise money and ty was just sure his "beautiful" coloring job would win a prize. haha.
Hanna still has some work to do! ha.

We were heading to my Meme's house where she was hosting her 42 club that we got to bust in on her party and eat the delicious dessert spread. yum yum. We picked a great night to stay at meme's. The company was great and the kids entertained the card playing guests.,,but, we all stayed up way too late. Somehow, Ty and Trav ended up in one bedroom and me and hanna slept on a twin and trundle, playing musical beds. :) that was fun!

Meme playing "Cards" with ty and hanna.
of course, we didn't venture far from the dessert table my meme provided.

Saturday morning trav and I got up early and headed to grapevine leaving our darlings with meme...and we went to get a new car...or so we thought..long story was the wrong color and not what we wanted so we left without a car...not a good morning at the time, but like always, it worked out and we have a new car being delivered tomorrow from a different dealership.
But, we got to spend time with meme and she and the kids got one on one time. We had to head back that afternoon bc we wanted to be back for church on sunday....but we didn't leave before a dance game was is such a great sport! :)

Why did we want to be back on sunday? Well..b/c our little boy got promoted to the preschool area at church and is now in the BIG KID area! TEAR! I am so excited for is he..but, it's kinda surreal at the same time. Where has the 3 1/2 yr's gone? SIGH!
Hanna stayed in her same we still have one (almost 2) in the jr exlporers still. ! :)

Ty was a champ and just went right in like he'd been there many times before. He has always loved his Bible class and we are told every sunday what a great kid he is and how he always interacts and answers questions. We are always so proud. He is usually in class with a few girls and 1, getting to a group of 3-5 yr olds with more kids will be fun for him.
They start with songs then break out in their small groups based on ages...where they learn a bible, it's basically what he has been accustomed to but on a larger scale. We just love watching him grow and learn with the Lord.

Later that day, Grandpa surprised Ty with his first real golf club. We have been talking about it for awhile but...when you mention something to mom-mom or grandpa they usually get it before mom and dad. So...Ty was SUPER EXCITED..and he has been putting all day, everyday, ever since.  he actually has a really great touch and was able to actually play grandpa's putting games. Looks like an indoor putting hole is on our list next.

Thursday we have our meet the teacher at our new MDO location and we are all very excited about it...loved seeing all my friends pictures today of their little ones first day of school and I just can't believe that it will be us next year! ahhhhhhhh!

My little boy will always be my "Ty baby" even if I'm reminded all day that he is my "big boy."
speaking of my sweet little big boy...
Me having a baby has really set in with him...he is all about it...especially at bedtime when he is trying to prolong bedtime.
So, he always lifts up my shirt and asks if Claire is awake and puts his hand on my belly...and sure enough Claire always kicks or punches him and it just makes Ty laugh so hard. He thinks that's so cool.
and it makes my heart smile knowing how much he and hanna love each other and Claire will just add to the love.

Hanna's bedtime routine makes me laugh....we always read a book or 2 and then she says her prayer, "God, mommy, daddy, ty, daddy, ty, mommy, amen." haha. some of us get prayed for repeatedly..haha.
Then she asks to "sing song" and I start my beautiful singing of Jesus Loves me as Hanna rolls over and pulls her shirt up wanting me to rub her back and then rolls back over and I rub her tummy. haha...

Ty gets 2-3 books and a story (told by daddy) and then I rock him, turn on his music and lamp and I tuck him in saying, "close your eyes, close your ears, close your mouth, tuck your paws in and tweak your nose." It's from a book that Travis' grandmother, nana, use to read her grandkids..and we were given that book when we were pregnant with Ty! and he just loves it. So, that's special.
Of course he's always up afterwards bc he "has to tell me something" or he needs a "drink" or "poo-poo" or any excuse imaginable to stay awake longer! ha! typical 3 year old. but, he finally gives up and crashes.
He has been doing excellent about staying in his bed all night and not coming into bed with trav and I. If he does I just tell him to go back to his room and he does some times kicking and screaming and others he just says, "ok" and heads back to bed. He has learned that daddy is the heavy sleeper and will try and sneak on his side and crawl into bed...but mommy, the light sleeper, can hear his little pitter-padder foot-steps coming...but, last night while I was dealing with hanna's lack of sleep in her room he snuck in our room...and a couple hours later when I went back to my bed he was sound of course he got to stay! sneaky little fella!

Anyways, sorry to bore you with my kids stories but I had to document them before I forget..which lately my brain is doing as it's just isn't ya go!

Precious Moments...

This week has been nothing but crazy, chaotic and busy...I honestly, never thought I would say this, but we are ALL.VERY.READY.FOR."School" to start. Ready for our routine, schedule and I  know Ty is super ready to see his friends! Even though we have been very tired this week since bedtimes have been pushed back greatly from our busy schedule... the park and pool have helped ease a little of the grumpiness! ha! But, through it all, I have managed to find some super sweet, loving, caring times with my babies...

Ty is absolutely LOVING his Martial Arts Class. Last year when he was in gymnastics he was happy about it...but towards the end of the year he was getting pretty bored but..this whole Karate thing is right up his alley and his face lights up every tuesday and thursday...He sits and watches the "big kids" class before him in awe! You have not seen cute until you see all these 3-5yr olds do karate..they are all great and it teaches them so much (discipline, confidence, strength..etc, etc)...I figured if Ty is going to go around the house doing "ninja" moves I might as well get him trained properly! haha. So, it was a great decision and worth every penny! He even earned a stripe last night...when you get 5 you move up a color! So, he was SUPER excited! Yes, I am that mom that takes pictures and videos every class..hehe!

So, even though our days have been chaotic...when I sit down at 5:00 to watch his just automatically puts a smile on my face and I forget all my worries. Seeing my little boy and how happy he is and how much fun he is such an awesome feeling. I just love him so much!

Like I have mentioned before...Ty has recently asked to be rocked every night...even though he instructs me how to rock him and for how long..he still insists on, with everything going on..I comply. I always have to tell him to "stop talking or I am not going to rock you." b/c he'll talk your ear off...but the other night I actually let him ask me his questions and tell me his story!
He sincerely asked me, " mommy, how is Claire going to come out of your belly?" and, since I am having another c-section, I honestly could answer him the correct way and told him how they do c-sections..hehe to all you momma's who get to experience delivery the natural way...I get to avoid that scenario! haha.
After I told him the doctor just pulled him out of my belly he asked how and I mentioned he cut a little on my belly and out comes a baby. He looked at me with very concerned eyes and said, "but mommy, will you be ok? will they put all your belly back in?" After I assured him I would be ok he said, "Ok, good mommy, I was worried they wouldn't do it right." sweet, sweet little boy..always looking out for his mommy! Hope my section goes well bc they'll have the wrath of Ty if not! lol.
Again, it's moments like that, that make time stand still, forget your worries and enjoy the moment.
He's the sweetest, loving and most grateful little boy whom I love more than he'll ever know! :)

This sunday he gets promoted to the BIG KID bible school class area. I know he will love it as he has always loved all his other Bible school classes but to be in the area where all the big kids go..he'll be excited!

Hanna...our little Hurricane just a mess...but we love her dearly! She has learned to open the doors... so the baby door guards have been placed on her door knobs or she's out of her room instantly ....and to also prevent her from locking the doors...which has become one of her favorite things to do.
As she currently brings me a package of crackers I am reminded that she loves her crackers, fruit, cereal and fruit snacks. Those seem to be her food pyramid. ha!
I'm excited for her to start gymnastics in a few weeks...she's been so patient with all ty's fun activities (and this year she's all ready picked up karate techniques)... so, we are ready for it to be her turn to play. however, she is definitely Ty's cutest cheerleader. She has always cheered for gymnastics, swim lessons, in the backyard playing every sport and now karate...she cheers and claps so loudly and says, "Go, Ty, Go." She is such a proud little sister...and refers to him as "Ty Roby" lol.
She still likes to be carried everywhere but I am hoping MDO will help with that!
I have already started thinking how hard it's going to be for me and my babies after the section...since they both love to be held. It's the hardest thing not being able to! but, I guess we'll cross that bridge when it gets here! ;). she doesn't share her mommy well at all with others..not even daddy! so, although we laugh about her hangup with sharing...travis loves to antagonize her about it! which obviously really helps the
She has the biggest smile and typically loves the camera. She makes everything her purse, necklace or any other form of jewelry..and loves to put on lotion and lipstick..and wants to wash her hands 24/7.  She also loves all babies..real or fake and always wants to hold them. She makes us laugh constantly with her funny antics...and her current favorite song is "Here we go lubey-lou"  she could do that for hours it seems. She still has yet to watch a cartoon but when football is on she will watch that! so, yay for football starting! :) ha! Love that little girl..she sure does know how to make you smile! :)

Baby #3, Claire, is just growing..I least it definitely feels that way...she is just as active as her siblings.  With only 10 weeks to go...she'll be here before we know it! Can't wait to meet her! :)

Love my babies to the moon and back...and I treasure every moment we have together...even if it is crazy!

Cousin Time...

A week in cousin life...

Ty and brady tested out Karate that Ty will soon start...our little ninja is in heaven...
Hanna's signed up for gymnastics with her BFF, HJB!

park date with friends on our cool and rainy day...perfect weather for 1 1/2 at the park.

hanna lovin on Sutton (aka "su-son")..who makes her look porcelain pale..and she's really not..he's just super dark, like his momma!  :)

our little monkey.

Ty playing, "hunting" again...and attempted to show Brady how to shoot his bow and arrow...that was pretty comical!

Hanna fixed her own hair...

fudgesicles outside..their choice of seat was Ty's jeep.

thankful sweet..and yes, they each HAVE TO have a turn at praying! but, they are all very sweet prayers.

While the oldest 3 watched bubble guppies in our room...hanna only wanted to watch "bo0-ball." Hey, if that's all I can get her to watch, I'm ok with that...wish I would have thought of that sooner. She would get so frustrated at the commercials and when travis would act like he was going to change the channel she'd say, "no daddy," haha! Maybe she will do great at the Tech games after all! :)

Hanna's quiet time...not sure I'll ever share her secret again bc it backfired on me and and she and sophi were up all night!

but, before Hanna's nightowl came out...Brady requested a new room bc "Ty won't stop talking to me."lol...(brady usually sleeps on the trundle in ty's room...but they typically get separated bc of this issue)...So, Brady snuck in bed with hanna..since at that time she was asleep at her door...naked! I put her pull-up back on her and was going to get her jammies back on but she was so out I just covered her up...but, it was a sweet cousin moment while it lasted..bc she ended up in our bed. ha!

Travis took the boys to the deer lease to "help" I can only imagine how that really goes..but, Ty won't let trav go without him and brady was excited bc "I've never been there before." So, it's just me and the girls..The one positive about staying up all night is they both actually went down for a nap easily and napped almost 2 hours...I'll take it. :)

We are grateful they are close in age to each they have a great time together...and I have to soak in the moments now as the boys reach school age soon...and I guarantee their mom-mom won't let them skip least she never let us! haha!

Hope everyone has a great weekend..I think we'll go bake something! :) hehe!

Weekend Getaway...

This past weekend Trav and I took a LONG, overdue, weekend getaway...just the 2 of us...we were thinking back and it has been 3 years ago since we have done a trip, just us, and only our 3rd alone trip in almost 5 years. So, yes, we were a little excited about our trip. Every year, since I seem to be knocked up come anniversary time, our anny trips have been placed on hold...including our upcoming 5th, we decided to just take a little trip to the cabin in Ruidoso for a combined anny trip along with the last relaxing travel before baby Claire comes to play! :)
We left Friday afternoon...Trav was in a clay shoot and ended up winning a gun (pistol) he was SUPER excited about that..but it pushed back our getaway time...once we finally took off and he was explaining what a great start to the day/weekend it was..."I shot good, I won a gun, it's almost hunting season, your dad got a dove lease"...etc etc... I quickly reminded him..."umm...excuse me, what about your little wife here of almost 5 years...what am I, chopped liver." his response ." oh, ya, but, that's just a given." lol..nice one, Roby! One day, I'll be his main love...until's all about! j/k! love you, trav!  :)

I've said this before, and I'll say it of my favorite things about traveling alone with trav is our car conversations...they can get pretty hilarious. Yes, our topics are usually the same, hunting, stories growing up, dreams, travis' obsession with having a beard...etc.they are just all over the's how one went...
Discussing our deer lease which includes a nice 3/3 ranch house...
T: "I just want a camper, a lawn chair, and a yeti cooler with my feet propped up holding a beer."
L: "well, that doesn't sound redneck at all."
T: "What in that sentence made you think it sounded redneck?"
LOL..and he was actually serious! hahaha....

One thing I do Love about my husband is his simplistic way of life..doesn't require much...just a place to hunt, fish, a pair of undies and shorts and he is golden! ha!
In fact, he survived one summer at the beach with 2 pairs of shorts, flip flops and his work shirts (was a bus boy at a a restaurant)...oh, and his fishing rod...and he was in heaven!

Anyways, back to Ruidoso...this was my first time ever in 29 years to come by myself..or with my hubby. So, it was nice doing our own thing....which was absolutely nothing. Literally.

When we got there friday night we stopped at the Wal-Mart for groceries....running shoes for trav (he forgot I said, he's low-maintance..when it comes to clothes)...and the Classic movie, Jeremiah Johnson..which happens to be my dad's favorite movie that we spied right on top in the $5 we grabbed it. Travis can quote just about every movie out there...I can quote 2...Dumb and Dumber and Jeremiah Johnson. IF you have a man who loves the outdoors...give it a try. :)

Saturday, we woke up to 50 degree weather, and was glorious. Travis loves cooking, he cooked us up some sausage biscuits and we enjoyed the weather and scenery on the porch. Inside, we enjoyed a little fire...i love fires!

Later we took a walk...walking at the cabin is one of our favorite things to do...the air, the temp, the's just great...Travis has been running a lot lately and is way better shape than I am in...and he could have gone forever..and at a faster pace..but preggo over here..slowed him down. I actually felt we pressed on...all the way up the hill to the old reservation point. I haven't walked that in at least 3-4 years (b/c as you all know, it's all different with kiddos), that was exciting for me...and I knew once I made it to the top I just had to go down..the easier I thought! haha...not so easy when you have a pregnant belly that you have to try and stop before you are rolling down the hill! lol. but we made it...After our 3.5 mile walk...I was sore..for a few days afterwards...and now know when they say "to walk to induce labor" that's the scale they mean...uphill in wonder it never worked for me before...midland's flat roads doesn't quite cut it! haha.

After a late, scholtsky's lunch (with wifi) we got some hay to entice the Elk to come play more...I so desperately want Trav to see Elk and bears up there...he still hasn't been able to. so, we thought..we would pull all the stops. We brought one of Travis's game cams and tied it to a tree near the hay...and then we waited...and waited...and waited..for 2 elk at all. just some mule deer. but, we both love to watch at least they got to enjoy it.  :) Actually, with all the rain (it rained the whole time we were there) there wasn't much wildlife activity at all. Great they got much needed rain..but sad for us..not getting to see many animals.
Sunday, we did the same thing, walk (but not near as far), and just relax...just wonderful.
Monday, we hit the road after lunch...and were welcomed back in midland with the lovely heat..and dry weather! but, it was so nice having a few days of cold weather temp, rain, greenery, and just me and the hubs time. but, we missed our kids dearly and were very ready for them to return. My sister was watching them since thursday we were all ready to see each other...Ty told me over the phone tuesday morning before they left to come back to midland, "Mommy, I dream about you last night.", so sweet! and although hanna's nickname is "hurrican hanna" we were ready to have our sweet little mess back! :)
Grateful for God's beautiful land, a weekend with the hubs and a cabin in ruidoso to enjoy! :)

Me and the hubs almost 5 years married....2 kids and 27 pregnant with our 3rd!!! WOW!

The river sat. morning..

Trav threw deer food out and they finally stuck around. Typically the mule deer are like house pets..and humans don't bother them at all..but these little guys were a lithe more frigidity.

My mom loves the's her favorite spot she is always done there moving rocks and making it flow right and pretty....since she wasn't there, Trav took over her love of the river. He moved rocks, shoveled down little banks of sand..and made the river flow better. What a great son-in-law! :)

See what his handy work and more rain can do??

A pic from the game cam....just a few mule deer.

 Breakfast sat. peaceful.

With the fire inside, cooler weather and brisket in the crockpot...made us thing it was fall already...we are a little anxious for fall time in our house.

Travis stretching for our big walk..haha...I learned awhile back that Travis' grandparents took a trip to ruidoso one year and stayed at the Noisy Water lodge...which just happens to be right up the road from our, when we passed by there I showed Trav exactly where it was...sentimental memories! :)

and we made it...this use to be home to the Mescalera Apache (the bad guys) they have moved locations...I have a keychain one made for me years of my aunts use to substitute at the reservation....We drive out there occasionally...but, they aren't too fond of white people cruising through their land. When I was little they use to have little indian type shindigs..where they would dress up in all their regalia and do dances...but I haven't seen or heard about that in a very long time.

Later that day, putting up the game cam...

and dispersing the hay..

playing in the river...moving rocks..

breaking down the sand/rock islands...

The next morning, after the rain stopped, our friends came back...

There were actually several really good lookin bucks...and they are just developing and still in, they'll be good ones in a few years..

People always ask me where to eat in ruidoso.. I usually never know where to tell people b/c we typically just eat at the cabin...but our fav places that we eat at Cafe Rio Pizza and (depending on who you are with...The Buttery).  So, of course, Sunday night we enjoyed our Cafe Rio Pizza. :)

Sunday night 2 of our shows are on...."Real Housewives and Kardashians." hehe..both such wonderful shows...but we watch!
They came on later in NM we stayed up extra late to watch...when all of a sudden trav said he had indigestion and I smelt something funny..haha..but it actually wasn't trav..just funny timing of the 2 was a skunk! pew-wee. We closed the windows and continued on with our shows.
The next morning during our walk we noticed not 1 but 2 trashcans had been knocked over with trash scattered everywhere...indicating a bear had been snooping. After our walk trav went and got the game cam pics and we saw this....

The backside of a bear..and it appears to be a big bear. No, it's not white, just the night cam..but, it was large...wish it would have stayed put a little big longer to get a good pic of it..but it seemed to be on a mission to get somewhere. Although we didn't see one in person, it was still cool to see one on the cam...and according to the game cam it was about the time the skunk smell came to must have just missed it! It's crazy how quite those things are for how big they are!
There was tons of hay left and my parents are going back in a couple of, we'll see what's left of it or what finds it! :)

We had such a wonderful, peaceful and relaxing time....just marvelous!
Now, we are back to reality of life and switched duties with my sister as we now are watching B &S through, it's our crazy world..but we love it! :)
