30th birthday surprise...

Happy 30th Kasey.
Today, Sunday, January 27th..a little girl named, Kasey was born...and today she celebrated her 30th birthday! Kasey, from, knew my husband in college..(trav and I did not attend the same college..nor did we know each other then), I met Kasey through Travis! and Kasey is best friends with his cousin, Jenn and went to grad school with travis's boy cousin's wife, Jenn..Hope y'all are following the story..and no that is not a typo..there are 2 Jennifers! confusing at times, I Anyways, I say that bc, basically, Kasey is family. But...not family enough for Ty to date Hallie and for Hanna to be Hallie's best friend! :)
And we liked she and her husband Blake so much that we got married on his birthday...if only i had a video of his speech at our wedding giving my parents a big shout out for the best birthday party he's had! lol.
We have thoroughly enjoyed being their neighbors and friends and so when her 30th was approaching I knew we had to do something! So...A week before her official bday (bc I knew she and her hubs were going on a weekend get-a-way on her "real" bday), a few of her girlfriends got together to surprise her! It was great! Awkward at first since I am not good at lying and wanted to laugh the whole time I was walking her through my house...and of course, ty was with me because he wanted to tell her "surprise"(so she thought Ty was in trouble..bc I wasn't talking and typically the kids are asleep when we start our wine nights) and he had been practicing singing, "happy birthday," on his karaoke machine! hahaha..he's already trying to get in good with Hallie's parents!
but, finally i was able to spill the secret when the girls jumped out and yelled, "surprise" and she almost dropped her bottle of wine...since she thought she was just coming over for our normal neighbor wine night.!
It was a lot of fun chatting and drinking wine! perfect celebration!

OF course, when I started planning this...where did I go for decor...pinterest! duh!
I found these great free printables that were perfect for the occasion..and I thought I would share...and give credit to the blogs where I found them.

So, if you are needing decor for a 30th bday..check them out...and don't be surprised if you see them again from me! haha!

got the cute cupcake toppers and bottle labels from

and the banner from
They have the full version but I shortened it and added her monogram.

I just hope y'all are much better hosts and take pictures of the guests...i definitely failed in that sorry, Kasey!

happy birthday, Kasey!  :)

Daddy's little helper...

We were actually home for a weekend and it was FINALLY warm enough to put together Ty's trampoline he got for christmas! I am not sure who was more excited...Ty or Hanna! However, Ty's favorite part was helping daddy put it together..
Ty has jumped, jumped and jumped...but now he is sick and mean mommy won't let him go outside for the past 2 days...even though Ty will tell me, "I take my medicine and I will wear my jacket." The kid LOVES taking his medicine...but WILL NOT keep on a jacket. I look like the bad mom who doesn't put her kid in a jacket bc it's cold outside...bc my little boy is so hot natured and claims he is never cold.
In fact, Ty stayed home today while sister went to MDO...bc she is a mess and needed to go run around. Speaking of running...Hanna runs everywhere...and her newest trick is..grabbing something she knows she doesn't need to have or a toy that Ty was playing with...and runs away with it! haha..and it usually ends up with Ty tackling her! lol!
Although she is sweet, she is going to be our handful! haha

life in the fast lane...

Busy life...but a great life!

Last week on thursday and friday I got to keep B &'s always a fun, fun time when the kids are around but it can get crazy!
I always try and take them to do fun activities to keep everyone entertained...exhausting at times but fun for them!
Travis left on thursday to go hunting with friends in south texas so we took him to the airport for his fun, guy weekend.
And, my dad also went hunting last weekend as, thursday night me and the kids spent the night with my mom, sister and kids...for a girls night...but, since NONE of the kids wanted to sleep it wasn't much of a relaxing night! but, fun to wake up with everyone..and easier for my sister and I since she didn't have to bring the kids to my house or I didn't have to get to my parents house early in order to watch the kids.

Sophi feeding her "horse."
went to the odessa mall..or what they call a's not much of one..but it is a super kid friendly place...of course the boys had to ride the train! Sophi, thought she did but clearly she didn't like it after it began to move...haha.

Sophi's first time in the toddler bed at my parents...she did great at nap time but bed time was a little more difficult..but look how sweet she looks when she finally gave it up! aawwww..

Jumping place on friday with friends...

Saturday we ventured to the mall for shoes (with my mom and sister)..I am not that crazy! ...and I found this in my camera roll on my phone that Ty must have taken...
clearly, brady was real excited! hahaa.

I scream you scream, we all scream for ice cream...

Sunday night when it was time to get trav at the airport, Ty was so excited...but since neither kids really wanted to take a nap on our way at 6:00 they both feel asleep....which I had a feeling would happen and put them in their jammies before we left. Moms know best!!!haha..
Trav's plane was almost an hour late and they slept the whole time...and slept on the way home...Ty woke up a little when we were pulling in the alley to our house and ty said, "Mommy, we at the airport yet." haha...poor guy slept the whole time.

Tuesday, back to school!
BTW..Hanna got moved up at school and has been loving her new every mom..I was shocked to hear she stayed on her nap mat..Good Girl Hanna!
She loves her older classmates and I love it for her! My little girl is growing up! :( tear!

Yes, Snuggie goes to school, too! but, stays in his backpack until nap time...and when I go to pick him up, ty always says, "Hi mommy!  can I get snuggie." haha..
It's going to break our hearts when the day comes for Snuggie to go bye-bye!

On another note....I ATTEMPTED homemade tortillas...because there is nothing better than a good homemade tortillas...I love rosa's...HEB's are good...but if you live in midland and want a really good tortilla go to Supermercado...they are delicious..and so are all their other mexican food items! :)

Anyways, my tortillas looked nor tasted anything like
I am going to keep trying...with a new recipe..and when I have more time...5:00 was not the best time to try! E for Effort but F for epic failure! lol.
If y'all try..I hope y'all have better luck than I did.
However, this morning we made Baked Cinnamon Breakfast Bites...and they were a hit!
Ty, as always, helped me...and basically had the remaining cinnamon and sugar mixture as an appetizer! ha!
He still managed to get several baked bites down..and so did my little girl..and so did I.! I knew if food was covered in cinnamon and sugar she would love them...and who wouldn't!

The recipe called for AP flour but I used my whole wheat..and they turned out great and instead of using a round cake pan I used a baking sheet lined with parchment paper! Using parchment paper makes me feel like a legit! I need all the help I can get!

So...go try these! baked cinnamon breakfast bites

 Clearly, we loved them.

and sorry if you follow me on pinterest...sorry for all the food posts...I was organizing the recipes that we enjoy!

Happy Hump Day!

Winner Recipe....

Let me preface by saying...My 1 year old is the pickiest eater ever. If it is not a peanut butter cracker or a piece of candy...the girl doesn't eat. I have explored many options...she'll put it in her mouth wipes it off her tongue and then drops it on the's really fun let me tell you. I give her a daily multivitamin to help get nutrients and occasionally gets the squeezable food pouches and the kids sidekicks nutritional shakes.
I say that because, we make banana bread often bc our bananas ripen to much before we can eat we freeze them and make banana bread. So, when I ran across this recipe on pinterest I thought it looked yummy and added some healthy aspects to regular banana I made it yesterday...and well, it's almost all gone. It's been a hit..and little miss LOVES I thought I would share. It's perfect for adults and little kids...and it's healthy for you and super easy to make.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Banana Bread: One of my very favorite recipes - use mini chips and instant oats for best results.
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Banana Bread:

Click here to get the recipe for Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Banana Bread!

It's Delicious. I use whole wheat flour often and some recipes come out grainy bc of it..but not this recipe since the oatmeal gives it that extra texture anyways... It does call for Organic cane sugar..but I was just fresh, I just used regular sugar..and it worked great. :)  oh, and I used the regular size chocolate chips..we love chocolate in our family....:) I made muffins and bread..I did one loaf of bread and poured the remaining batter into muffin tins...for a quick grab and go breakfast! :)
Anyways, thought I would share...bc if hanna will eat it..everybody else would probably love it too! :)

mommy- son night...

Last night Travis went and watched the fball game with some guys and Hanna went to bed around that left just me and Ty for a bit!
Ty and Travis typically have an after dinner snack of peanut butter and honey since Trav was gone I had to feel the void for my growing boy! I naturally, grabbed a plate but Ty quickly shot that down since, "Me and my daddy don't use a plate." haha..
So we sat on the couch and ate our crackers and since it was a little after 7 I clicked over to the Bachlor ..having thought it was being recorded...but, it wasn', I recorded it but something else was recording I had to watch it..commercials and! Ty usually plays, talks, dances and sings at night but tonight since we were sharing a snack on the couch he tuned in to my, since the hubs was gone..I got full control of the remote! :)
So, Ty and I sat there eating our snack and watching the Bachelor together...side note...Ty is very observant...she notices things and picks up on things/details very quickly. So, while watching the show when the girls came on to give a quick bio and one girl from Houston introduced herself, Ty said, "Houston." That's where Gamy and Granddaddy live." and another girl came on,Ashley. Ty again said, "Ashley? Like my ashley? Hey, they are both ashleys." haha. He is such a sweet, sweet boy!

When he finished his snack he cuddled up even closer and said, "Mommy, I love you." AHHH...I LOVE WHEN HE SAYS THAT out of the CLEAR BLUE! MELTS MY HEART! and I just can't kiss and hug him enough! LOVE, LOVE my little boy! and I love making him into a little gentlemen...never too early to start in my mind. He always opens the doors for me and hanna and then says, "I'm being a good gentleman." sweetest little boy!

Then it was bed time...he got to stay up a little later since he was into the show with me..he hated when commercials broke in bc he wanted to know what was going to happen...(i.e..when Sean left Tierra there to give her a rose). Ty was cracking me up.
I hated Trav wasn't there to sit and watch the Bachelor with that would have happened...but I am glad me and my precious little boy got some alone time together...they are the best!

lol...I mean,  he is just full of life and quite the just never know with him...makes us laugh constantly.

 couch date..
Before christmas my parents got the boys bikes to keep at their house...but, Ty asked mom mom and grandpa nicely and he got to bring it home for a little while bc his parents aren't as cool. Ty will tell you, "Safety first."

...and this is little miss when you tell her, "no."
she was doing every toddlers favorite trick of pouring her milk out and spreading it around...and we told her, "no" and this is the reaction we got.
Then she will hold her arms up for you to hold her....I think she is going to be more difficult than ty on punishing! Hard to keep your stance on her sad little face.

"When the moon hits your eye..."

"Like a big Pizza Pie...That's amore"

If you know my husband you know he has a LOVE for pizza...he could eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack..all in one day! He loves it!
So, For christmas Ashley got him a pizza stone..wait for it...for the GRILL! It is so cool. So, tonight we were able to finally try it out. and...they were delicious. She even included pizza dough in the Travis learned about the KitchenAid and the dough attachment..and the process of dough rising...I was like a proud momma..haha! He even threw the pizza up in the air to spread the dough like a true pizza maker...haha...and Ty was VERY IMPRESSED! "Wow, Daddy."
Ty and  Hanna both loved making their own pizzas....and the final results...WERE DELICIOUS! Best homemade pizza's ever...and probably best pizza I can remember. VERY GOOD.
Trav did an awesome job. Muy Delicioso.

Ty and Hanna helping make their pizzas.
Pizzas on the grill.

They might not have been a perfect circle...but...E for Effort.
Never judge a book by it's cover! :)

My little Snow Angels...

We absolutely LOVE our neighborhood...perfect for our family and we have the BEST neighbors! Wine night last night and playdate this morning..seriously, it's so much fun! :)
This playdate was extra fun because...IT SNOWED!! yay! Ty was super excited when he woke up and was told it snowed...very exciting no matter what your age is.
Ty and Hanna both loved the snow and it's even better when you play in it with your friends...and have hot chocolate and make snow ice cream! Thanks Jenny! Hanna, I believe, enjoyed it the most! The girl LOVES her sweets!
When we got home, Ty, apparently wasn't finished playing and asked to "get carrots" so we could build a this time our snow was almost all melted..but I helped him make a little snowman with the remaining snow we had! Love having my little boy! Boys are so much fun.
So, the snowman had huge noses for their little bodies..but they were "beautiful." :)
Loved our neighbor time and loved my little family time enjoying the beautiful snow! However, Ty was sad when his snowman "were gone."

"H"'s daddy would have been so proud that she picked up a golf club out of all the toys!

See the girl in the back...she made us other momma's sick...she looked fabulous at 9am. :)
Never too cold or wet for a game of golf.

BFF's...two blue-eyed HJ's.

Although Hanna loved the snow...her favorite was playing with the water dripping from the she was sopping wet! :) her outside time didn't last long!

Love our neighbors..yummy snow ice cream.

"fat man in a little suit." looks like it's time for bigger coveralls! ")

Our moment of silence.

My little snow angel.

Ty's masterpiece...looks like that one lost an arm..

Had to build one for sister who was inside eating...i mean, playing with her food..aka..dropping it on the floor.

And I leave you with favorite little chef's! :)
